EIC Photography students visit the National Portrait Gallery

EIC Photography students visit the National Portrait Gallery

This week our Ealing Independent College students had the opportunity to visit the Taylor Wessing Photographic Prize Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. This is a leading international competition which celebrates and promotes the very best in contemporary portrait photography from around the world. The selected images, many of which will be on display for the first time, explore both traditional and contemporary approaches to the photographic portrait whilst capturing a range of characters, moods and locations.

As part of the Ealing Independent College Photography curriculum, students are required to visit Photography exhibitions to conduct primary research in to the medium, which will later form part of their coursework. Often exhibition visits stimulate new lines of inquiry and exploration in the students' own creative work. A fantastic opportunity to current EIC students to develop their skills outside the classroom.
