The Great Trip to China

23 Nov 2015

For students who will still be at the College in 2016-2017 and that are interested in boosting a potential UCAS reference, Allan Cairns Head of GCSE and Humanities is planning to lead a once in a lifetime trip. This would be an amazing challenge for any student before heading off to university.

The college will be running an ambitious expedition to China in the summer of 2017, where a group of students (ideally around 10-15, of which 6 have already signed up), will work together to fundraise as a team in order to make the trip a reality. There we will visit some inspiring sights including the Great Wall of China, the Terra Cotta Warriors of Xian, the Forbidden City in Beijing and a Panda sanctuary in Chengdu before undertaking an extremely worthwhile project helping a rural community following a trek in the Tibetan mountains.

There has been two encouraging meetings so far and the signs are looking good to get this project up and running.
