Ealing ‘ready’ to defend their title

Over the last few weeks, a series of training sessions and trial matches have taken place, with Ealing boss Allan Cairns now ready to finalise his squad for the upcoming league campaign, in which the team will defend last season's West London Independent Colleges League championship, won on a glorious night back in April.

The core of the side last season consisted of Year 13 players who have sadly departed the College for university, and so a new team has had to emerge. They have a lot to live up to, but Cairns is optimistic for the new season, particularly after a pulsating trial match on Wednesday 12th October showcased slick passing and some impressive finishing in a frantic 8-8 draw.

The College's successful recruitment period has unearthed some exciting new talents, whilst many of last season's year 12 and GCSE students have shown that they are ready to step up in an effort to replicate last season's triumph. With Ealing's first home game on Thursday 20th October, look out for regular match reports during the season, which promises to be an exciting one.
