Whether you’re considering enrolling your child at Ealing Independent College or are already in the process, we hope this guide will answer some of the most common questions about our College. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

How do I apply to Ealing Independent College?

We welcome applications throughout the year. If you’re interested in joining us for the upcoming term or later, you can begin the application process by contacting our Admissions Officer at admissions@ealingindependentcollege.com or completing the enquiry form on our website. We’ll then provide you with all the information you need, including details about scheduling a tour and meeting with the Principal.

What is the admissions process at Ealing Independent College?

Our admissions process is designed to ensure we understand each student’s individual needs, academic goals, and abilities. Here’s an overview:

Stage 1: College Tour and Interview – First, we invite you to tour the College and meet with our Principal. This will give you the opportunity to experience our environment, small class sizes, and our unique approach to education. You’ll need to bring copies of your child’s academic records (e.g., recent exam results) to the interview.

Stage 2: Assessment – After the initial interview, the Principal will set assessment tasks for the student to complete at home. Once completed, the results will be reviewed.

Stage 3: Second Interview and Offer – After reviewing the assessment results, a second meeting with the Principal will take place. This is an opportunity to discuss the results, academic goals, and decide on the most suitable programme for the student. If successful, we will issue an offer letter.

Stage 4: Acceptance – Once you receive an offer, you’ll need to review and complete the Enrolment Form and pay the non-refundable registration fee to secure your child’s place at the College.

When is the deadline to apply for a place?

We accept applications at any time throughout the academic year, so it’s never too late to apply! However, we recommend getting in touch as early as possible, particularly if you’re aiming for a specific term start.

What is the age range for students at Ealing Independent College?

We cater for students from Year 9 through to Year 13, offering both GCSE and A-Level programmes. Our environment is designed to support students with various academic needs, whether they require a more tailored curriculum, additional support or seek more challenging academic opportunities.

How do you support students with an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP)?

We provide tailored support for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure their individual needs are met. We create personalised learning plans in collaboration with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals, adapting teaching methods to suit each student’s learning style. This includes providing one-to-one or small group support, and offering flexible learning environments. We also focus on emotional and social well-being, providing a safe, supportive space for students to build confidence and self-advocacy skills.

We maintain regular communication with parents and work with external agencies such as speech and occupational therapists to offer a holistic approach to support. Our college fosters an inclusive culture, where students with EHCPs are fully integrated into the learning community, ensuring they feel valued and supported both academically and socially.

What support services are available for students?

We place a strong emphasis on pastoral care. Our support system includes:

Personal Tutors: Students meet with their Personal Tutor daily to discuss academic progress or any personal concerns.

Vice Principal (SENco) & Welfare Officer: Both are available for additional support if students need someone to talk to.

Peer Mentoring: Sixth Form students mentor younger students to offer guidance and support.

How do I accept an offer and confirm a place at the College?

Once you receive an offer letter, you will need to:

  1. Review the details in the Enrolment Form.
  2. Pay the non-refundable registration fee to confirm your place.

Once your payment has been processed, we will send you all the necessary details for your child’s first term.

Can my child wear casual clothes to school?

Yes. We believe in creating a comfortable and supportive environment for our students. Our GCSE students are allowed to wear casual clothes, and our A-Level students enjoy even more flexibility with their time and attire. A key part of our philosophy is to encourage students to develop responsibility and time-management skills in a safe, supportive environment.
