College Life

Next Section

College life is more than lessons, homework and exams. It is important that students make the most of their time at the College and take an active part in the extra-curricular opportunities on offer. Students may choose to join any of our clubs and societies, try out for the College football team, join the student council, and participate in exhibitions and trips in the UK and further afield. In recent years our programme has expanded to feature a wide selection of clubs, trips and social events.

Clubs and Societies

Students may join a wide range of clubs and societies at the College. New opportunities are introduced each year, but the below is a representation of popular clubs and societies we have been running for the last few years. The clubs and societies meet weekly and are led by a member of our staff.

Sports and Activities

The College football team is one of the most popular extra-curricular activities at the College. The team practice weekly at the local sports club and compete against other London Colleges in an annual college football league. We are incredibly proud of the team who managed to win the league in both 2016 and 2017. Other sports opportunities are introduced to the College each year, such as a Fitness and Running Club.

Student Council

In addition to their academic studies, students are encouraged to take an active part in the life of the College. There is a Students’ Council which meets when necessary with the Principal to discuss wider College issues. There are representatives from each year group on the Council. Organised events outside of the College are discussed and planned at this forum.

Trips and Excursion

Taking full advantage of being based in London, the College organises excursions to musicals, art galleries, museums, concerts, and famous historical landmarks. The activities programme has been especially designed for our international students to be able to participate in social activities whilst exploring the city. During school holidays we also organise regular study trips around the UK and further afield. In recent years some of our students travelled to China for a four week expedition exploring the country, and visited Poland with the Holocaust Educational Trust.

"What I like the most about the College is the teaching and the students. The teachers are not only the best teachers I have ever had, but they are extremely friendly and always willing to help."

"Ealing Independent College helped me achieve good results in my AS levels even though I came very late in the year, and this put me in a good stead to achieve excellent grade A-level results through the teachers' constituent support throughout the year."
