The Student Council at Ealing Independent College (EIC) is an essential part of our community, serving as a vital link between students and staff. Today, we are pleased to feature a Q&A with one of our passionate council members, Rudy. As a Year 12 student, Rudy exemplifies the spirit of leadership and a commitment to positive change within our college.
Q: Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background?
A: My name is Rudy, and I’m currently a Year 12 student at EIC. After completing my GCSEs here, I chose to continue with A-levels in biology, sociology and psychology. I’m quite sporty and love participating in activities like road cycling and tennis. Outside of school, I’m also a keen musician and enjoy playing the guitar.
Role in the Student Council
Q: What is your role on the 2024 Student Council, and what are your primary responsibilities?
A: As a member of the Student Council, my main responsibility is to gather thoughts and opinions from students around the college. It’s crucial that everyone feels heard, so I take their feedback seriously and discuss potential changes with teachers and staff to see how we can implement those suggestions effectively.
Motivation for Change
Q: Why did you decide to run for this position? What motivated you to get involved in the Student Council?
A: I’m really passionate about creating positive change within the school to ensure that students are happy and successful in their studies. I believe strongly in democracy and the importance of listening to the opinions of others. It’s essential that we make improvements where they’re needed.
Goals for the Year
Q: What are your main priorities or goals for this academic year in your role?
A: My main priorities this year include implementing various ideas to ensure that students are satisfied with their experience at EIC. I plan to send out regular questionnaires to gather feedback about how everyone is feeling and what changes they would like to see. I’ll then present this feedback to the staff.

A: Being on the Student Council has really empowered me to spark change within the college. It’s given me confidence in my leadership abilities and taught me the importance of effective communication. I’ve learned how to ensure that everyone feels valued and happy in our school environment.
