Guidance and Development at EIC

Careers Guidance at EIC

Did you know that EIC offers personalised, on-site careers guidance?

It is a legal requirement that all schools must offer impartial careers guidance.  However, many schools meet this requirement by hiring external advisors who come into school, meet the students once and then give advice.  At EIC we take a different approach, as we feel that careers advice is best given by someone employed by the College who knows each student well.  Nemone, our Head of Languages, also runs our careers programme and she is currently offering appointments to students in Years 11 and 12.  If your son or daughter has missed out and would like an appointment, please ask them to drop by and see Nemone.

UCAS Update

This is a very exciting time of year for Year 13 as they work hard to prepare their applications for university.  At the time of writing, two of our students have already completed their applications - Riten, who is applying for Medicine, and Namit who is applying for an Engineering degree at Cambridge.  Both students have taken advantage of the help given at EIC.  Unlike in many larger schools, our students have the opportunity to submit as many drafts of their personal statements as they choose to, and they receive detailed guidance from the Vice Principal, their Personal Tutor and their subject specialist teachers.  We wish them and all of our other students success in the application process!
