College life at Ealing Independent College is about more than what happens in the classroom. While academic progress is important, we also want our students to enjoy their time at college, discover new interests, build friendships and create lasting memories along the way.
As a small independent college in Ealing, West London, we believe that a positive college experience includes opportunities to learn, socialise and develop confidence outside academic lessons. That’s why we offer a range of extracurricular clubs, weekly Games sessions and termly trips, helping students make the most of college life beyond the classroom.
Discover Something New with Our College Clubs
Our clubs and activities give students the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new skills and try something different alongside their academic studies.
With activities ranging from student leadership and drama to football and paranormal investigations, there are different ways for students to get involved, meet people with shared interests and discover new passions.
Our current college clubs include:
Monday

Tuesday
- Maths Club
- Student Council
Wednesday

Our clubs offer a variety of experiences. Students can build communication skills through Drama Club, contribute ideas through the Student Council or explore scientific interests through the Biomedical Society Club. Those considering a future in medicine, dentistry or pharmacy can also access dedicated interview preparation.
And for students looking for something a little different, Spooky Club offers the chance to explore the paranormal!
Whether students want to develop existing interests or try something completely new, our extracurricular activities provide opportunities to build confidence, share ideas and feel part of the college community.
Games at EIC: Finding Enjoyment in Movement
At Ealing Independent College, our GCSE Physical Education programme is known as Games. We recognise that students arrive with different experiences of PE at their previous schools, so we take an inclusive approach that encourages participation without putting students under pressure.
Rather than focusing solely on traditional sports, our Games programme offers a variety of activities designed to help students discover new interests and find enjoyable ways to stay active. Alongside activities such as football, students have opportunities to try experiences including indoor rock climbing, ice skating, go-karting and virtual reality.
We understand that not every activity will appeal to every student. Participation in individual sessions is therefore optional, and students who would prefer not to take part can remain at college to study instead. We believe that offering choice and encouraging students to try new experiences can be more effective than forcing participation.
Our aim is to help students build confidence, enjoy new experiences and discover activities they may want to pursue beyond college.
College Trips: Learning Through New Experiences
Some of the most memorable experiences of college life happen outside the classroom. At Ealing Independent College, we organise frequent trips that give students the opportunity to explore new places, try different activities and spend time together in a different setting.
Recent trips have included visits to the Science Museum, the Imperial War Museum and Thorpe Park, offering a mix of educational experiences and days out to enjoy with friends.
Students are encouraged, rather than required, to attend trips, and their suggestions for future destinations are always welcome. This helps us offer experiences that reflect the interests of our students and gives them a voice in shaping college life.
From exploring science and history to enjoying an exciting day out, our trips provide opportunities to discover something new, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories.
More Than Just Lessons at Ealing Independent College
At Ealing Independent College, we want students to feel part of a welcoming community where they can learn, grow and discover what interests them. Alongside personalised academic support, our clubs, Games sessions and trips help create a college experience that extends beyond lessons and exams.
We believe that enjoying college life, building positive relationships and developing confidence are important parts of a student’s journey.
Because there’s more to EIC than the classroom.
