At Ealing Independent College, we believe that education should work around each student, not the other way around. That’s why you can join us at any time throughout the academic year.
Whether your child needs a fresh start, has recently moved to London, is returning to education after a period away, or has simply discovered that their current school is not the right fit.
At Ealing Independent College, there is no “wrong” time to start.
Flexible Admissions for Every Student
Every young person follows their own educational journey, and sometimes circumstances change during, or at the beginning of the school year.
Perhaps your son or daughter started at another school this September but has found that the environment, teaching style or level of support is not meeting their needs. They may have taken time away from education and are now ready to return, or your family may have recently moved to London and are looking for a supportive independent college in West London.
You may also have only just discovered Ealing Independent College and feel that our approach is right for your child, but don’t want them to wait until the next academic year.
Whatever the circumstances, our admissions team is here to help.
We welcome students throughout the year, subject to availability and a suitable academic programme, making us a flexible choice for families looking for an independent supportive college in London.
Support for Students Joining Ealing Independent College
Starting at a new school or college is a big decision, particularly if the academic year has already begun. Sometimes, a student may start the new school year with every intention of settling in, only to realise after a few weeks that their new school is not the right environment for them.
Perhaps they are unhappy with the atmosphere, finding the teaching approach doesn’t suit them, struggling to settle socially, or simply feeling that they would thrive better somewhere different. In these situations, there is no need to wait until the following September to make a change.
At Ealing Independent College, students join us at different points throughout the academic year, so joining EIC after the start of term is something we are very used to supporting.
We understand that every new student needs time to settle in, both academically and socially. Our calm, friendly and supportive environment helps students feel comfortable and part of the EIC community as quickly as possible.
Every new joiner is given a student buddy to help them settle socially and find their feet. Alongside this, our teachers provide the academic guidance and support they need to transition onto their new courses and, where necessary, catch up with any work they may have missed.
For students who have only recently started at another school, the decision to move again can understandably feel daunting. We aim to make that transition as smooth and reassuring as possible, helping each student feel confident that changing schools can be a positive fresh start.
A Flexible Approach to Starting at EIC
We recognise that some students need a more gradual transition into a new educational environment. Depending on their individual circumstances, we can offer a range of flexible options, including:
- Reduced timetables
- Phased starts
- Hybrid learning
- Additional academic support
- Personalised guidance during the transition
Our aim is to make changing schools or colleges as straightforward and positive as possible.
Many students are surprised by just how quickly they settle into EIC’s calm, welcoming and supportive environment.
Thinking of Changing Schools or Colleges?
If your child is unhappy at their current school, has fallen behind, needs a different learning environment, or simply feels ready for a fresh start, you don’t necessarily have to wait until next September.
Ealing Independent College welcomes applications throughout the academic year.
