Following on from the successes of A Level results last week, GCSE students at Ealing Independent College showed their resilience, commitment and determination in order to secure a range of outstanding grades.
With over 75% of all grades scoring 4-9, the tremendous dedication of the students themselves has to be emphasised. They have performed superbly well, many of whom significantly surpassing expectations along the way.
Many of the students will now move on to A Levels at the College, having proved that they are capable of attaining the highest grades possible. As Ealing focuses on student empowerment and individuality, it is only right to put the spotlight on just a few of our success stories below:
Yuichiro has stood out as a driven problem solver from the day he walked into the College. What has been truly remarkable has been his growth in confidence. He finishes GCSE as a confident young man with tremendous leadership skills and a grade profile of four 9s, two 8s, two 7s and two 6s.
Nils only came to the College at the start of year 11, and has managed to get the very best from himself to perform outstandingly well. With one grade 9, two grade 8s, two 7s, two 6s, one grade 5 and a grade 4, he has given himself many options for A Level study. A thoughtful, reflective and popular student, Nils has an extremely bright future before him.
Sophia is another student who has changed the entire trajectory of her life through application and determination, whilst taking advantage of the small class teaching and regular feedback provided at the College. Lacking in confidence before she joined, she now has no hesitation in terms of expressing herself, and has a very bright future. She has attained an outstanding grade profile of 9988887765.
Nur, a student from Malaysia, has been an exemplary student over the last two years. Popular, kind, welcoming and polite, she has struck up superb relationships with staff and students alike. Her consistently strong industry was rewarded with excellent grades across her subjects, scoring 98777666.
Henry has overcome struggles to get to where he is now. Struggling to find the right environment in a local state school, he was worried that he was destined to underachieve. Consistently having worked on building resilience and positive relationships with his peers and staff, he has scored a range of results which have left his teachers incredibly proud. Two grade 7s, two grade 6s, two 5s and a grade 4 represent considerable added value from expectations at the start of Year 9, when he joined.
Ali moved to the College in Year 9 and has settled well to get the best from himself. Embracing the transition, whilst becoming one of the most respected and well-liked students at EIC, he attained one grade 7, two grade 6s, four grade 5s and a grade 4 – and he will go on to A Level study with a new sense of confidence in his approach.
We have also enjoyed working with many students who have sought to make considerable improvements in just one year of study, some new to GCSEs having travelled from another country, or some as retake students, seeking to move forward from disappointments last year.
Vardan was able to improve six grades across five subjects, and has certainly earned his place to study A Levels in Mathematics and the Sciences at the College from September.
Haven managed to score six fantastic GCSE grades, including a grade 8, in just one year of study, whilst Anoushka achieved an excellent set of five results including a grade 9.
The College also provides the chance for particularly gifted students to take some GCSEs early, and Izzy performed superbly in this regard. She sat four, scoring two 8s and two 7s, and plans to take six more in 2026 to complete an undoubtedly strong overall set of grades next summer.
A huge congratulations to the students, who have emerged from the last two years of hard work, looking ahead to their next steps with vigour. We are so very proud of them all!
