As the exams approach, it’s natural to feel a mix of excitement and anxiety. But remember, you’re not alone. As your Exams Officer, I’m here to guide you through the process, offering some practical study tips and advice on how to stay calm during exam time.
-
Start Early, Plan Ahead
It’s easy to procrastinate, but the earlier you begin studying, the less stressful it will be. Make a study schedule and break it into smaller, manageable tasks. Organising your study sessions around your exams will allow you to tackle each subject in a balanced way and give you time to rest when needed.
-
Practice Past Papers
One of the best ways to prepare for exams is by doing past papers. This helps you familiarise yourself with the exam format, time constraints, and the types of questions you might encounter. Practicing under timed conditions can also reduce exam anxiety.
-
Stay Organised
Keep all your study materials, notes, and stationery organised. This will save you time and prevent unnecessary stress during revision. An organised workspace can also make studying feel less overwhelming.
-
Sleep and Eat Well
Never underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep and healthy meals. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep to help your brain process and retain information. Eating nutritious food will also keep your energy levels up, making you more alert and focused during study sessions.

Stay Calm on Exam Day
On the day of your exam, take a deep breath and stay calm. Arrive early, bring everything you need, and read through the exam paper carefully. If you start feeling anxious during the exam, pause for a moment, take a deep breath, and refocus.
Final Thoughts
Exams can feel like a big challenge, but with the right mindset and strategies, you can tackle them successfully. Start early, stay organised, take care of yourself, and above all, believe in your ability to succeed.
