A level examination results

With grades dropping across the nation to the lowest they have been for more than a decade, we are delighted to share that Ealing Independent College has had another year with some exceptional student achievements and grade enhancements amongst our two-year A Level cohort and our Intensive retake group. The consistency of strong A-level results across the College is a hallmark, and a true testament to the passion and dedication of all of the teaching staff for guiding and inspiring our students to achieve their full potential.

Principal of Ealing Independent College, Dr Ian Moores, commented: "It is very pleasing to see that the tenacity and diligent hard work of students, which I see on a daily basis at the College, has been rewarded. It brings a great deal of pride to see our student body enjoy such success. I wish them all well in their future endeavours.”

A high proportion of our students have again made it to their first choice universities, and we are delighted to share some of their successes below:

Thanusree, an international student from Malaysia, achieved an excellent AAB in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, which has enabled her to pursue her dream of studying Medicine. A former student council member who was part of the College’s first delegation to Model UN conference in Boston in 2018, Thanu’s industrious approach to her studies has been rewarded and we wish her every success in the future

Vladislav also performed with distinction, scoring an A* grade in Russian, along with a B grade in Photography and a C in Mathematics. Vladislav’s hard work and dedication throughout his time at the College ensured that he has achieved the results which he deserved, despite joining Year 12 late in the first term. He goes to University of Westminster to study Photography with our very best wishes.

Alishba pushed herself throughout her A Level studies, maintaining her high standards in four subjects across two years. Her grades of ABBB in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and History are testament to her tireless work-rate and calm, methodical approach. Alishba remains on course to study the Medical Sciences at St. George’s University, a career which she is certainly suited to.  

Sarah, a Malaysian native, studied Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, performing superbly well. She attained B grades in all subjects, and her valuable contribution to the Charities Society over this academic year has left a tremendous legacy of generosity to the local community. She will now read Accounting and Finance at City University of London.

Lina, who successfully undertook an intensive GCSE with the College, taking her grades to A* and A, up from B and C grades, stayed on for A Levels and performed tremendously. With B grades in Psychology and Chemistry, complimenting a C grade in Mathematics. Lina was a model student during her time at the College, and has developed immensely since joining in 2015. She will now go on to study Economics at City University of London.

Chiraag, who joined the College to restart his A Level studies following disappointment at a local state school, worked consistently hard over the last two years, realising his potential by attaining B grades in Biology and Chemistry, alongside a C grade in Mathematics. 

As well as a fantastic performance from our Year 13 students, many students also joined the College to embark on a one-year intensive course with the intention of improving on disappointing performances in their former schools or taking up a brand new subject. There were some real stand-out success stories this year:

Katerina, made a brave decision to come to the College for a year with the goal of improving her grades to gain access to better university courses. Having previously attained a B grade in English Literature, she pushed her Mathematics grade from a C to a B and, taking the subject from a scratch start, without even prior GCSE background knowledge, worked immensely hard to achieve a B in Biology. A truly superb achievement.

Another student who joined the College for one year on the A Level intensive programme was Nazanin. Having suffered the disappointing setback of achieving CCD in Mathematics, Psychology and Economics respectively, she lifted his profile to BBC, enjoying a 3 grade enhancement. Nazanin was a popular, industrious and amenable student at the College and she has certainly learned how to study more effectively, going with our very best wishes to study International Relations at Queen Mary University of London.

Rehab returned to the College to study intensive A Levels in Biology and Chemistry, having already attained C grades in both. By fine tuning her approach in both disciplines, and applying more rigour to her approach thanks to the Colleges guidelines, she was able to achieve an enhancement of one grade in both subjects. Rehab will now be going to Kings College London to study Pharmacy.

Nimr, disappointed with his grades of CCC, which were achieved at a local state school, enroled at the College in 2018 with the aim of improving his chances of gaining a place in a more prestigious university course. With the help of small class teaching and close support, Nimr achieved BBC grades, enjoying a two grade rise. Nimr also captained the College football team on several occasions during the season.
