GCSE Art at EIC

25 Apr 2018

During Summer Term our GCSE students are working on projects of their own choice, as we are preparing them for next year’s exams. In their exams, they will respond to an external subject and create a personal body of work based on a prior research.

One of the students is working on his subject ‘light and dark’; by investigating the style of Patrick Caulfield he is trying to make his own artistic attempts. Another is exploring examples of body forms and sculpts from antiquity. By drawing them and using different colourful variations he is creating images that he can use for his paintings. Our international student from Vietnam has already investigated her subject ‘interiors’ and is working on her paintings.  By examining the work of the artist Laurie Simmons she has created her own ideas and style.

All Year 10 students work on acrylics and will create a number of paintings on canvas. Some of those canvases we are looking to use for October's ISA National Art Competition.
