World Restart a Heart Day 2018

17 Oct 2018

Yesterday we took part in World Restart a Heart Day. In countries where children are taught first aid in schools the survival rate for a cardiac arrest is up to 1 in 4. In the UK this is less than 1 in 10 - and World Restart a Heart Day hopes to change this. Early CPR and early defibrillation can have a huge impact on survival rates for cardiac arrests.

Students took part in sessions learning about primary survey, breathing, compressions-only CPR and using an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Students are also able to take part in weekly first aid training sessions at 3.30pm on Wednesdays.
