Queen Mary Visit to the College

18 Nov 2015

Yesterday, Tuesday 17 November, Dr Steve Le Comber of Queen Mary University of London visited Ealing Independent College to speak about the Sciences and at QMUL, some applicant advice and what it could offer our students.

Dr Le Comber is Senior Lecturer and Admissions Tutor of the Department of Organismal Biology at Queen Mary was accompanied by Negin, a second year student, and gave an enlightening presentation about the courses on offer within Biology and the Sciences as well as an insight into admissions processes at the University. He gave some good advice on what Universities are looking for in an applicant. Negin also gave her perspective on student life at the University, and why she chose QMUL.

Dr Ian Moores, Principal at Ealing Independent College commented “It was great to have a representative from one of London’s top Universities at Ealing. We have many students who want to progress and study the Sciences at institutions like this when they complete their A Levels. Hopefully the extra insight gained will help them with their UCAS applications and how they manage their offers. It was a great opportunity for our students, staff and parents, so I am pleased that they took advantage and asked some interesting questions. We will be inviting Dr Le Comber back to speak to our students and staff next year.”

This was the second in a series of University talks, the first was from UCL, which we will be continuing. If you would like to receive more information about upcoming talks then please email info@ealingindependentcollege.com
