Kavanjot and Varun
Both Kavanjot and Varun joined the College in September 2006 after two years of sixth form study at Slough Grammar School.
Kavanjot wanted to improve his Computing AS result and follow a one-year Further Mathematics course.
He succeeded in raising his C grade in Computing to an A grade.
In Further Mathematics during the year he scored:
Mech 1: 94/100 Further Pure 1: 87/100
Mech 2: 86/100 Further Pure 2: 79/100
Mech 3: 78/100 Further Pure 3: 100/100
This resulted in a very high A grade (524/600) and has enabled Kavenjot to read Mathematics at the University of Warwick.
Varun wanted to improve his A-level grades (DBE) in Economics, Mathematics and Physics, so embarked on a one-year course at EIC and also took up AS Accounting.
He succeeded in raising his grades at A-level to
Economics: B; Mathematics: A; Physics: B. This represents a six grade improvement. He also obtained a B grade in AS Accounting.
Varun has now been accepted onto the competitive Finance, Accounting and Management course at the University of Nottingham
Furhana and Sara
Furhana and Sara both joined the College in September 2006 to improve upon their former A-level performances which they completed at Claremont High School.
They both enrolled on the one year A-level (intensive) courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Their time at EIC has really improved their career prospects and they are both delighted with what they have achieved this year.
Furhana originally obtained three D grades at A-level. This summer she has pushed this up to three B grades which has enabled her to enrol at Kings College London to read Biomedical Science. This represents a six grade improvement. Ultimately Furhana wants to become a Doctor.
Sara was very disappointed when she joined the College having only achieved one E grade and two U grades at her previous school. During this academic year Sara has managed to raise her grades to three C grades. This represents an eight grade improvement. Sara has accepted a place to read Medical Genetics at Queen Mary, University of London.
