Student Performance
& Personal Tutors
A good performance in GCSE and A-level examinations depends upon many factors including luck. There is however no substitute for thorough preparation and the close monitoring of academic progress is an essential element in that preparation. Students should always be aware of any disparity between their measured and expected performance.
For this reason, each student works closely with a personal tutor who is responsible for his/her academic progress throughout their time at the College. Coursework issues, current assignments, test marks and examination prospects are regularly discussed with the personal tutor.
We aim to keep our students (and their parents/guardians) informed and up to date with our assessment of their progress. Written reports are sent to parents (or guardians) regularly (approximately monthly), and there are parent/tutor evenings in the Autumn and Spring terms.
